Resident Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh Rabah Larbi presented his credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on 03 February 2020 afternoon. Welcoming the envoy to Bangladesh, the President expressed satisfaction over the existing excellent political relations between Bangladesh and Algeria. He recalled Algeria’s contributions to Bangladesh soon after its independence and the historic visit of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Algiers in September 1973. Abdul Hamid also thanked the government of Algeria for reopening its mission in Dhaka, saying through this, the existing bilateral ties between the two countries will reach a new height in the days to come. The President expressed the hope that the existing relations in the field of trade and investment between the two countries will expand further during Rabah Larbi’s assignment in Dhaka. The new envoy sought all-out cooperation in discharging his duties in Bangladesh.
On his arrival at Bangabhaban, a smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) gave the envoy a guard of honour as part of the ceremony.
