Algiers, 20 October 2026 — The Prime Minister of Algeria, H.E. Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, received in Algiers a Bangladeshi ministerial delegation led by H.E. Mr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Humaiun Kobir, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Algeria. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors. A major milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on hydrocarbons, opening new prospects for government-to-government cooperation in LNG, LPG and other petroleum products, as well as technical exchanges, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building. Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to deepening ties with Bangladesh, highlighting the considerable potential for complementarity in trade, commerce and investment. The visit and the signing of the MoU mark a significant step in translating the longstanding friendship between the two countries into concrete cooperation and advancing their mutually beneficial partnership.
